Hello! My name's Randy Gilmore. I'm a local ceramic tile & natural stone installation contractor here in the Ozarks. I'd like to invite you to visit my website and extend the services of my forum to you. It's my goal to get the forum up and active. It will be a great source of knowledge for contractors and individuals with questions pertaining to the tile business. I feel that our community is in need of this. Too many builders & individuals have been hurt by installers of which were lacking the necessary qualifications needed to deliver a lasting, professionally finished product. In the forum, you can obtain knowledge to know what to look for when hiring an installer. I've been in this business 15 years and have been advising homeowners all over the country (through big forums) simply by means of sound advise. If I can't do the job myself, I can recommend the appropriate products which do vary in different types of applications. Ceramic tile & natural stone are to very completely different elements. Natural stone has strict structural requirements and requires specified installation products that differ from ceramic tile. The installation techniques are also different than that of ceramic or porcelain tile. I'm not insinuating that all installers lack credibility, but I am suggesting too many tile setters are taking on stone applications without the proper experience. With just a few questions directed to your bidding installer, you can know ahead of time whether or not to use them.
